Adopt A Shelter Pet

Puppy mills stay in business because so many people acquire their pets from pet stores. Please visit Girard LifeSaver to look for your next pet. Most animal shelters have a wide assortment of dogs and puppies and cat and kittens to choose from. About twenty five percent of the dogs are purebred.
So if you have your heart set on a certain breed it just might be their waiting for you.
Give the animal shelter animals a chance; you are saving a life.

Remember that pedigree papers do NOT mean you are getting a guarantee of a quality healthy pet.
On average mix breed dogs are known to have less health problems than purebred dogs.

Sweet Calvary gets a second chance! Another saved from Kill Shelter!!

Little Calvary is an eight week old puppy and minutes away from being euthanized at a shelter near Atlanta, Ga.  A little boy brought him to the shelter and told them that he found him trying to crawl out of the road.  He said he found the owner who told him since he was hurt to just take him and put him in the woods.  The little boy took him to the shelter the next day.  Girard LifeSaver was pulling twelve puppies from the shelter that same day, May, 22, 2009.   Little Calvary looked at Caryll and with his eyes said to her:  "I'm not suppose to die yet, please take me too".  Little Cal was the thirteenth puppy.  With the help Kelly, my wonderful foster Mom in Pa., Calvary has found a veterinarian who is trying to help him walk on his own one day.  He is getting hydrotherapy daily and the most wonderful care that a handicapped pup could ever ask for.  He has a family physician and two nurses fostering him and getting him to his appointments in New Jersey.  Calvary's  evaluation has determined that his nerve is not severed.  He has some feeling in his hind legs but  drags them when he walks.  We believe in miracles and have so much faith that our special boy will be able to run and play like the other pups very soon.  Check back for updates on Calvary and to see new pictures and progress made.  Please keep Calvary in your prayers....He is a very special little guy!  We are no longer in need of funds for Calvary's treatment, if you would like to make a donation for much needed funds for transporting additional puppies to safety you may do so by clicking on the pay-pal link on this site.
Please specify that this donation is for "TRANSPORT FUNDS"
